Scrabble video games
Since the early-1980s, there have been numerous officially-licensed video game adaptations of the board game *Scrabble*.
1982 Little Genius version
In 1982, Little Genius released an official version of Scrabble for the Apple II and licensed it to Psion who developed a version for the ZX Spectrum. Little Genius formed an associate company, Leisure Genius, which went on to develop and publish versions for most popular computers of the time.
2000 version
In the United States, the PC version of Scrabble sold 260,000 copies and earned $2.5 million by August 2006, after its release in July 2000. It was the country's 78th best-selling computer game between January 2000 and August 2006. Combined sales of all Scrabble computer games released between January 2000 and August 2006 had reached 910,000 in the United States by the latter date.
